For the Spanish and Surf and the Spanish and Adventure camps in Playa Dominical we stay at Hotel Villas Rio Mar. This full service eco resort sets the standard for jungle lodging in the Dominical area. It is nestled between the Rio Baru and the costal mountains, which are covered in lush rainforest. Its over 12 acres of grounds are covered with beautifully landscaped gardens, bubbling brooks and plenty of tropical birds in the trees, especially toucans.

There are over 15 thatched roofed Bungalows spread throughout the property giving each a feeling of privacy and communion with nature. Each bungalow has four suites, each with private terraces and hammocks. These are Standard, Junior, Superior and Deluxe suites. Our students stay in Standard and Junior suites. At the center of the compound is the large swimming pool. It is surrounded by plenty of lounge chairs and a grassy area for lying out. The large and well appointed restaurant has a definite tropical feel with its high thatched roof and tropical woods. There is even a tennis court.

Each of the beautiful Villas Rio Mar bungalows will be shared between two or three students. There are four bungalows per group. Both the inside and outside of each bungalow is engineered to stay cool in the tropical Costa Rican weather.
